Much like Wagner, Turbin appears to be coming into a situation where he'll be expected to fill a need for the Seahawks. While Marshawn Lynch is the unquestioned starter at running back for Seattle, everyone knows you need some running back depth in the NFL, and a solid compliment to Lynch is apparently a need that they wanted to fill.
Turbin will be battling for carries with Leon Washington and Justin Forsett. Neither was overly impressive last season, and both are decently smaller than Turbin, who is built somewhat similar to Lynch.
Washington has yet to make any kind of impact in Seattle after seeing moderate success early in his career with the New York Jets. If I had to guess, his number of carries are most on the line with the selection of Turbin
Forsett had a solid year as a rookie in Seattle, splitting carries with Julius Jones in 2009. Forsett also was productive in 2010 with Lynch missing four games in that season, giving Forsett a chance to be the go-to guy for a bit. Last season though, neither he or Washington racked up much yardage, putting a large burden on Lynch that the team apparently would like to see as more of a shared load.

While both Wagner and Turbin ended up getting drafted about where they were slotted to get picked, you've got to tip your hat to the Seahawks for pulling the trigger to draft each of them. Both guys appear to have been drafted largely to fill a need, and both look to be going into a situation where they'll have a great opportunity for playing time.
If Pete Carroll is going to be an Aggie fan though, I'm quite alright with that. Whether or not that has anything to do with his niece who has been at Utah State for the past few years, I have no idea. Regardless, I really doubt anyone who has watched Turbin and Wagner play thinks the Seahawks won't potentially be getting tremendous value for second and fourth round picks in this draft.
