Aggies dominate at Seattle!

For the second game in a row, Utah State was pretty much completely in control over a team that took the healthy version of this team to the wire in The Spectrum.

In a nutshell, this team looks to have found its way. They're playing together, they're more focused, they're playing tough defense... It's coming together for them!

Earning a Sweep Dance given the situation this team is in is nothing short of impressive. Doing it as convincingly as they've done it is nothing short of bad ass. Thinking of what they can do with the way they're playing is nothing short of exciting.

Above all else, I'm in love with this team right now!

NOTES
  • Marcel Davis killed it once again. He was making shots from everywhere, handling the ball well, and just making things happen. Can't as for really anything more from a true freshman. He was great.
  • Weird, a double-double for Spencer Butterfield... Who would have thought! Kid is amazing.
  • Jarred Shaw was a monster down low once again. His savvy in the post has taken insane leaps forward in the past few games.
  • Yes, the man-crush on Ben Clifford carries on. His motor is unreal, and really right up there with Butterfield's. That is a lofty comparison, and one I don't feel at all bad about making.
  • Tenale Roland had probably his best game as an Aggie. Not trying to get too excited, but he averaged double-digit scoring on this road trip. If he can be a reliable scorer off the bench, things could be looking up a whole lot!
  • 20 minutes on the court between Jordan Stone and Matt Lopez. And effective minutes at that! That's what we need from those two.

Player of the Game: Marvin Jean

This is a bit of an obscure pick for player of the game, especially since he only hit 1-of-5 shots from the field. But the lead USU built was largely put together late in the first half, and it was in those later minutes that Marvin Jean made plays all over the place! He seemed to be grabbing rebounds and stealing the ball like it was going out of style. The game never really got close again in the second half, and so much of that is because Jean dominated the tail end of that first half.
