Figures is a class of 2014 guy who has been who has already grabbed a ton of attention from numerous schools, as well as the national recruiting scene. Rivals.com ranked him as the 145th best prospect in the country for the 2014 class. ESPN.com on the other hand rated him as the top prospect in the State of New Jersey and a four-star recruit with an overall rating of 82 (same rating that Preston Medlin had coming out of high school).
As is always the case with younger guys, there is plenty of upward mobility for a player like him to climb those rankings some more. And based on video of Figures in action from this past year, he looks like he could definitely add to an already high profile.

It's pretty obvious to see why Figures has caught the attention that he has from USU's coaches, as well as plenty of others back east. His combination of size, athleticism and shooting ability have him looking like an ideal guy to step in and fill the void that Medlin will leave in two years.
Throw in the possibility of playing alongside guys like Jalen Moore and Carson Shanks for three or four years, and this would be a pretty epic get for Stew Morrill's squad.
If nothing else, carrying the same rating from ESPN that Medlin had is exciting as hell. Nobody is forgetting anytime soon how Medlin was a BYU killer as a true freshman, and was a first-team all-WAC player as a sophomore. By the looks of things, Figures could very well bring that same kind of ability to the table and be a superstar in almost no time in the Mountain West Conference.
